The cottage has two bedrooms. The lake side bedroom has one queen bed. The other bedroom has one twin bed and one
futon bunk bed. The cottage also has a dorm that has two double beds. The air here will make you sleep like a baby. The air is free
with your paid rent so, don't look for additional charges, it's on the house. Oh, one more thing, the cottage is
a smoke free home. If you must smoke, do it outside and put your butts in a can. Be sure to extinguish yourself
before re-entering the cottage!!!
Also included with the cottage is a 14' fishing boat. A motor can be rented locally for a nominal charge.
There are plenty of dishes, flatware, pots and pans for cooking. Like most cottages, don't expect high end gourmet
kitchen gadgets and gizmos. If you require a cappuccino, bring your machine from home or, there is a great coffee house
in Beulah, called The Phoenix Cafe.
We hate rules like everyone but, some are established for good reason. Here are a few good reasons we think we
need a few rules:
The cottage is set up to accomodate no more than six adults. Please, no more guests than this. We want everyone to enjoy
themselves and the cottage is not set up to exceed this number.
Remember, you are guests in our family cottage. We would expect you to respect our home as you would your own or
that of a friend.
Exceeding six makes it uncomfortable for you, creates too much wear and tear on the cottage, and if you break these simple
rules you will forfeit your deposit and be charged accordingly. Worse, you may not be invited to
return next year! We will appreciate your cooperation and make no exceptions to this rule. So please don't
ask!
Last, but not least, because of the litigous world we live in, we have been forced to use a rental agreement. One
will be mailed to you prior to your arrival and after receiving your deposit. It must be completed and returned at least 60
days prior to your arrival or your reservation may not be held.
A few words on safety. We hope everyone is careful and realizes we cannot be responsible for choices you
make. If you choose to consume beverages or other substances that may be intoxicating, remember, you are on a lake. Do
not try to walk on water or, for that matter swim or operate machinery if you have indulged. Keep an eye on your children.
Even expert swimmers can get in trouble and we would hope you would be responsible enough NOT to allow your children
to be down at the lake alone and unsupervised. We do not want your memories of Big Platte Lake to be bad ones. So please,
if you are accident prone, irresponsible or, simply do things that are not safe, do them at home, not here!
Thanks!
